Community Enterprise PL12 June Newsletter
Dear Community Volunteers, Members and Supporters
As the summer sun begins to shine over Saltash, we’re thrilled to share some wonderful news, special moments, and exciting opportunities from across our community.
Thank you, as always, for being at the heart of everything we do
Volunteers Needed

Do you have a few hours to spare? We’re currently looking for extra hands to support our Community Shop and Saturday Kitchen. Whether you love chatting with customers or enjoy cooking up comfort food, we’d love to hear from you.
Please get in touch if you can help—even occasional help makes a real impact.
Pentillie Castle Open Garden Day

A Blooming Success! What a glorious day we had at Pentillie Castle’s Open Garden! Thanks to the collective efforts of our incredible team of volunteers, over £2,000 was raised to support the work of CEPL12. From setting up to stewarding and serving refreshments, every pair of hands made a difference—and every visitor left with a smile. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.
Saltash Sings – Friday 20th June

Saltash Social Club Come along and join us for a joyful evening of music and community at Saltash Sings, held at the Saltash Social Club. Whether you’re a seasoned soprano or just like a good singalong, everyone’s welcome—no experience needed, just enthusiasm!
A Heartfelt Thank You to Saltash Sailing Club
We’re delighted to share that Saltash Sailing Club has generously donated £1,000 to support our ongoing projects. This contribution plays a vital role in helping us continue providing valued services across the community—thank you for your generosity and belief in our mission.
Memory Box Café & Singers – RecentHighlights
VE Day 80 Celebration On 8 May,

The Memory Box Café marked VE Day 80 with a fabulous tea party—complete with classic wartime treats like spam sandwiches! The day ended with a heart warming singalong of beloved wartime tunes. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our volunteers who made it all happen.
May Fair & Dementia Conference Performances

The Memory Box Singers have had a busy few weeks, dazzling the crowd on the Main Stage at the Saltash May Fair and then performing a delightful short set of ‘Do you mind if I sing?’ at the Cornwall Dementia Conference on 16 May. Their beautiful energy and heartfelt voices were so well received, they’ve already been invited back for next year!
A very special thank you goes to Theresa Stevens, who generously donated her time to lead the group through both performances with her usual warmth and enthusiasm.
Thank You Rose! We’re proud to share that our Lead Volunteer, Rose Edwards, delivered a compelling presentation at the Cornwall Dementia Conference, sharing the inspiring work of Community Enterprise PL12 and our efforts to make Saltash a more dementia-friendly town. Her talk sparked interest from several organisations—watch this space for exciting new collaborations!
Community Enterprises PL12 exists because of the time, care, and dedication of people like you. Whether you're making tea at the Kitchen, selling local stock in the Shop, helping reduce food waste at the Community Fridge, singing your heart out, or helping us build a more inclusive town—we are endlessly grateful for your support.
With heartfelt thanks, The CEPL12 Team
