The Community Premises
The Community Premises
The Community Premises Enterprise was set up, initially, to support our other enterprises in their property requirements, by sourcing opportunities for them to operate from. It has expanded over the years, becoming a catalyst for other opportunities and an income producer in its own right, by way of rental.

The CEPL12 properties provide premises for 3 charities and numerous community groups, as well as central hubs for our own enterprises to operate from.

There are currently four properties within the enterprise, these are at 4 and 8 Fore Street, the former public toilets in Belle Vue West car park and 18 Belle Vue Road which is occupied by Saltash Foodbank, Citizens Advice, CFD Architects, Carbon Pixel, Tip of Elegance and is a base for our operations manager

Our Community Premises Enterprise was initially established to support other CEPL12 enterprises in their property requirements. However, it has since expanded and has now become a catalyst for other opportunities and an income producer in its own right.

In 2012, CEPL12 took on the lease for number 4 Fore Street. The building had been empty for many years, so our team refurbished the property and turned it into our Community Hub. It now provides a space for our Community Shop, where we retail many Saltash-themed items designed by local artisans and items on behalf of local charities and organisations.

Four years later, in 2016, we were offered the opportunity to take on 18 Belle Vue Road by Cornwall County Council. The property also required refurbishment. By taking on this property, we were able to keep Citizens Advice in the town and also provide a base for the Saltash Foodbank.

Our latest property addition is number 8 Fore Street, a former cafe. This premises will play host to our Community Kitchen, provide a permanent home for the Community Fridge and Mobile Larder, as well as a meeting space for several community groups, including Dementia Voice .

Over the years, the Community Premises Enterprise has been used to create other opportunities within the town. We started a pop-up arrangement at number 5 Fore Street to provide a high street destination for local artists and crafters to share. After a successful initiation, we passed this on to Lovingly Local, who is still trading there five years on.

We also helped set up Scrapstore Saltash, a registered charity that works to encourage a circular economy and waste reduction. They are based at 89 Fore Street and recently expanded into a second location at number 66 Fore Street.

The Community Premises Enterprise works to provide premises for the CEPL12 organisation as well as charities and start-up organisations. We are always looking to enlist additional properties to help set up, or provide relocation opportunities for established organisations and charities.
