Community Enterprises PL12 (CEPL12) Community Shop Interior

The Community Shop

4 Fore Street is the heart of the CEPL12 organisation and our administrative HQ. Here we provide information and advice about CEPL12 together with running our established and much-loved Community Shop. Our aim is always to help and give information to members of the local community; we’re often the unofficial tourist information centre for Saltash with a large notice board displaying community events.

The Community Shop and Hub is led and staffed by volunteers, who all work together and give their time freely to achieve a better environment centred around Fore Street.

All the profits from the shop are put towards supporting our other community enterprises, so if you buy any item from the shop, you are also helping to support the Community Fridge, Dementia Voice & Community Kitchen

The Hub can help with:

  • Community Information; local information on clubs, organisations, healthcare, what’s on, etc

  • Bookings for our activities including Community Transport, and invoices, payments, etc

The Community Shop first opened its doors in 2013, giving visitors and residents of Saltash an opportunity to purchase unique, quality gifts and goodies – many of which have been hand-made locally by 30 artisans who have chosen us to sell their creations. We are proud that this also reduces our carbon footprint and supports our environmental objectives alongside the recycling collection points we are involved with

We stock a number of charitable items on behalf of local organisations Saltash Environmental Action, the RNLI and the Royal British Legion and we have a great range of Saltash themed items to promote the town and which find their way around the world – especially at Christmas!

The CEPL12 Eco Crafters

This group meets every Wednesday in the shop from 1630 to 1830.

The group is a legacy from the activities we set up with Tresorys Kernow funding and has been responsible for the creation of our Community Enterprises PL12 Morsbags Pod.

We use the bags and other simple sewing projects to offer a friendly space to those new to sewing to learn or practice their skills, with a cuppa and cake from our Community Kitchen.

Become a Volunteer

The Community Shop is manned by volunteers, and provides a rewarding opportunity to help the community, gain employment skills or fulfil the volunteering role for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

If you can spare a few hours a month, we’d love to hear from you.
